Quilting Party Ideas

Instead of gifts?

We are pllanning a party for a 40th anniversary. The folks are retired and the last thing they need is people bringing “stuff” as gifts. I have been to a 1st communion where you had to put your dreams and wishes for the girl in her dream & wishes box, a bridal shower everyone brought their favorite recipe. A party where every member had to decorate their own quilting square (but of course the person whos party it was was a quilter). Any ideas other then a charitable donation?

This is a charitable donation but we went to a party for an older couple and everyone was asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the local food bank. I thought it was a great idea and with the economic times we are in food banks are running very low on supplies.
