Machine Quilting Blogs

new at quilting, just bought a machine, how do I piece things together?

without the stiches showing? like this?

Let’s assume you are working with squares. Put the two squares with the right sides together. Sew a straight seam along one edge – quilters usually use 1/4″ seam allowance. Open the two squares, and the stitches will be hidden just like in the photo.

After you sew together, press the seam to one side. If one fabric is darker, press in that direction.

Here are some web sites that can provide a lot of helpful information for a beginning quilter: http://www.quilterscache.com/

Good luck!
